Thanks to the staff and management of construction company, Mears, who have made a sizeable Christmas donation to Advance 360°.

The donation will go towards a new intergenerational project that is in development for 2016. Organised and run by young people, it will combat loneliness and isolation in the community. Watch this space for more details.

Gloria Austin, head of Advance 360°, commented: "This year we have worked with over 100 vulnerable people who were suffering from low self esteem, depression and feelings of isolation and worthlessness. By creating a series of workshops, challenges and opportunities, along with one-to-one support, this group became integrated and valuable members of their local community, they made new friends and found strategic partners.

"Without the help and support of organisations like Mears we would not be able to achieve many of these outcomes, so we are truly grateful."

Any individuals or organisations wishing to make a donation to Advance 360° or wanting to discuss any other forms of strategic involvement should email info@advance360.co.uk or telephone 0208 677 7182.

The first ever Streatham Free Film festival kicks off this month and Advance 360° is actively helping to make it happen.

From 17th to 20th September, 13 venues across Streatham will be showing 18 films including the much-talked-about Amy which presents an intimate portrait of the life and career of singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse, and the Oscar-winning comedy Grand Budapest Hotel.

And, if you see yourself as a budding Spielberg or Tarantino, why not enter the 48-Hour Film Competition? Pick up a prop, line of dialogue and a Streatham location, and then submit your masterpiece by 7pm on Sunday 13th September at the White Lion in Streatham.

The three categories we’ll be judging are under 16s, over 16s and families. There will be a film screening at the White Lion on 17th September when the winners will be announced.
